Ashley Okland Homicide

Ashley Okland, a 27-year-old Iowa Realty agent, was shot twice and killed shortly before 2 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011, while working inside a West Des Moines model townhouse.
A Rottlund Homes employee heard a commotion inside the model townhouse at 558 Stone Creek Court — part of the Stone Creek Villas subdivision near 84th St. and E.P. True Parkway in Des Moines developed by Rottlund Homes — and went to investigate. Inside, the worker discovered Okland on the floor and called 911.
Medics rushed Okland to the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, where she later died.

Scott Lograsso reward

On the morning of May 9, 2022, Scott Thomas Lograsso, 38 years young, was murdered outside of his apartment in the 3000 block of Regency Court in North Ames. He died of “multiple gunshot wounds” at approximately 4:30 am in the morning in the parking lot adjacent to his apartment.
Scott was well known in the community and freely interacted with a broad range of friends and acquaintances. He was a graduate of Ames High School and DMACC. He loved dirt track racing and was quite successful in building and racing his stock cars.
Ames law enforcement continues to look for tips or anything that somebody may have seen or heard.

Central Iowa Crimestoppers is offering up to $1000 for the apprehension and conviction of the shooter.
An additional reward, up to $10,000, has been established by the Violent Offenders Identification Charitable Entrustment (VOICE) for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the shooter.

BANK ROBBERY SUSPECT

STATUS: ARRESTEDShortly before 5pm on 26 Jan, the Metro Credit Union in the 100 blk of University Ave was robbed. Five days later, shortly before 2pm, the Central Bank in the 3400 blk of Ingersoll was robbed. Fortunately, no employees or customers were physically injured in either incident. The suspect did indicate that he was armed.
Surveillance images of the suspect from each robbery appear to be the same person.

HOMICIDE ATTEMPT TO IDENTIFY

Today, DMPD detectives have charged both with Murder - 1st Degree in the 31 Aug 21 shooting death of Javier Wilson-Moncada.
These arrests bring the DMPD 2021 homicide clearance rate to 100%, and most importantly, a healing step forward for the friends and family of Javier.
Detectives are requesting the community’s assistance with identifying a third person believed to be connected to this case. WANTED PERSON / SHOOTING INVESTIGATION

STATUS: ARRESTED20-yr-old Des Moines resident Andrew Gordon Meyer has active, felony level, drug-related arrest warrants, and has been identified as having important knowledge of the circumstances in the 09 January shooting of a 24-yr-old male in the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Ave. The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Meyer is described as 5’7” tall, weighing approximately 150 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes.

Missing Child

11 year old Xavior Harrelson was last seen at 510 North Front Street in Montezuma Iowa on or about May 27th, 2021. Xavior is 4’ 9” tall, weighs 100 lbs, and has brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information about the disappearance of Xavior is asked to call the Poweshiek County Sheriff’s office tip line at 641-623-2107 or Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa at 515-223-1400.
Community members and local businesses have established an additional reward fund for information leading to the resolution of this case.
